Vince McMahon is a billionaire who made the WWE into what it is today. He also is a great family man who loves his family very much. His son-in-law, Triple H recently shared an Instagram story that shows Vince’s grandson, Declan James McMahon looking almost identical to a young Vince McMahon. Declan is the eldest son of Shane McMahon and Marissa Mazzola. Declan has not made many appearances on television but the one time he did was when his father, Shane McMahon took on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.

Coming from a family that loves sports very much, it should come as no surprise that Declan is also fully involved in sports. He announced on Twitter his commitment as a preferred walk-on to the Indiana Hoosiers. Declan primarily plays as a running back but can also play quarterback as he played high school football in New York at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn. He decided to represent Indiana after visiting Duke and Rutgers and said he received offers from Fordham and East Carolina University.

Vince McMahon and his bond with football

Vince likes his wrestlers to be muscular and athletic and more often than not, he tends to make them the face of the company. Wrestlers like The Rock, Goldberg, Ron Simmons and John Bradshaw Layfield have all been former football players who later went on to hold the top titles in the company. The current WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, Roman Reigns is also a former football player who is now the biggest star in the company. The fact that most of them have the size and the strength makes them an attractive proposition for the WWE to push as their top star.

At WrestleMania 38, Vince gave former Indiana Colts punter and current SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee a chance to shine at the grandest stage of them all. McAfee took on Theory and put on a great show that had fans purring. He won the match by executing a roll-up in what was a veteran move. After defeating Theory, McAfee challenged Vince to an impromptu match that he lost, thanks to interference by Theory. Stone Cold Steve Austin showed up after the match and gave a stunner to Vince McMahon and Theory. The Texas Rattlesnake later stunned McAfee too much to the delight of the Dallas crowd.
