American professional wrestler Scott Steiner made a name for himself with his intense match-ups in his WWE career. He was one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, one-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion, one-time WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion and one-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion (Indianapolis version) besides being crowned WCW Triple Crown Champion eight times. He also won titles which included the WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW World Tag Team Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the TNA/Impact World Tag Team Championship. It helped him to become one of the most fierce and threatening personalities for the company.
But former WWE writer Vince Russo believes that he was a completely different personality when caught off-guard. Russo understood Big Poppa Pump during his time with the company and believes that he has got a big heart and is always there for his family. Besides that, he also highlighted that Steiner always believed in his personality which acted as his biggest strength for success.
“We worked a long time together at TNA, and that’s where we came close, man. That’s when I got to know the guy. The funniest thing is, and I learned how to handle Scott… bro, Scott likes people to believe his persona. Backstage, he will be cutting promos. There’s an infamous story of him busting into a television truck at WCW but literally foaming at the mouth,” reminisced Vince Russo on the latest episode of The Bro Show.
“When I used to see Scotty rolling around in the ring with his kids, bro, that’s the real Scott Steiner. And now, I’m blowing his cover now… If he hears this, the dude has got a huge heart Love him,” he added.

Russo got to know Steiner better while helping him in his promos for WCW and TNA. He also revealed that Big Poppa Pump was not an outspoken personality off the screen and didn’t hesitate in sharing a laugh with his colleagues besides trying to make people believe in his personality.
“Once I understood that he wanted people to believe the persona, he came back and started cutting the promo on me. So, I would sit there, listen, listen, and I would look him dead in the eye, and I would go, ‘Okay, Scott, are you done now?’ He would burst out laughing like every single time because he knew you get smart to it after a while,” the ex-WWE writer added.
