Sami Zayn’s connection with the Bloodline quickly became the most popular angle in WWE in quite some time. However, the Canadian star is no longer a member of the group, as evidenced by an emotional Twitter message. Over the last two years, The Bloodline has regularly been the most anticipated section of WWE programming. With the inclusion of Sami Zayn in the faction, the 38-year-old became one of the company’s most popular babyfaces.

Sami Zayn had had enough and assaulted Roman Reigns with a steel chair at Royal Rumble 2023, officially turning on the Bloodline. Jey Uso walked away as Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa assaulted the former ROH star. On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Zayn attacked the Tribal Chief, and a world title battle between the two has been scheduled for Elimination Chamber in Montreal. Zayn tweeted the following statement ahead of the match:

‘He’ll make Roman lose to Cody’- Ex-WWE star on Sami Zayn

Former WWE Superstar Sylvain Grenier recently talked about the likelihood of Sami Zayn beating Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. After Reigns defeated Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble last Saturday, Zayn turned to The Bloodline. After the bout, the erstwhile Honorary Uce declined to join The Bloodline’s attack on Owens.

Instead, he slammed a chair into The Tribal Chief. Zayn warned Reigns on the last edition of SmackDown that he was now coming for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The two superstars will face the battle in a championship contest at Elimination Chamber, which will take place in Zayn’s homeland of Montreal.

Grenier addressed the potential of Zayn against Reigns rather than the 2023 Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes, on Cafe de Rene.

“You know, because I don’t want it to look like Daniel Bryan a couple of years ago. He’s in that kind of position. And since the turn just happened, maybe I create a WrestleMania moment, not the Chamber. Create a WrestleMania moment. And sometimes it doesn’t have to be a, a match. It can be, he runs in the ring in Roman’s match. He make Roman lose to Cody, can be something like that,” he said. [1:25:17 – 1:25:53]

Reigns’ feud with Zayn is now personal

The former WWE World Tag Team Champion stated that the World Title is no longer relevant in Zayn’s battle with Reigns because the feud has gotten more personal.

“Do you think the belt really matters in that storyline? I don’t think it does. I think it’s more personal. I wish for him, especially in Montreal, if he wins in Montreal the place is gonna go banana. But it’s gonna take away from the champion because if the champion wins in Montreal and beat the hometown boy, the roof is gonna explode but the wrong way and that’s what they want because he’s a heel now. So, I think they’re gonna keep the heat on Roman,” Grenier added. [1:25:57 – 1:26:33]
