Mark Henry stated that he was overcome with emotion when seeing the Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens reunion that concluded last week’s Smackdown. Friday’s episode ended with Owens and Zayn reconnecting and kissing in the ring, and Henry discussed the sequence on Busted Open Radio. Wrestling Inc. has provided some highlights below:
Even in an ongoing narrative that is already receiving high accolades, it stood out because it was a real emotional moment in a society where those are often few. Mark Henry, whose phony retirement in 2013 stirred up a lot of real emotion, explained what made Friday’s angle so compelling on “Busted Open Radio.”
“I’m just gonna say it: There’s very few times you get the feel-good moment to where it makes you almost cry,” Henry explained. “Like the movie when the dog saves the baby. It’s just like Disney, you know? The Disney finish! That was the Disney finish last night, man. I found myself going [deep breath] ‘Whoa, that was heavy.’ It was redemption, It was forgiveness, It was grace. Mercy. All those things that make … my heart feel better. It was a heartfelt moment, and it’s hard to create because it’s wrestling — big brutes, people hitting each other. But to be able to get that emotion like that? That’s a skill, that’s an art. It was well, well done.”

After an emotional reunion on Friday Night SmackDown last week, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn began off Monday Night Raw this week to cement their place as a full-fledged tag team. They had some challenges to overcome, but they did so and are now back together. And they know exactly what they need to do next.
WrestleMania 39 on Sat., April 1 & Sun., April 2, 2023, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and a tag team title battle against The Usos. Cody Rhodes must take down Roman Reigns, while Owens and Zayn must take down his underlings, Jimmy and Jey.
Thus the babyfaces presented the problem. While the heels were first skeptical, with Jimmy claiming they hadn’t earned a chance because they’d only been a team for three minutes, Jey saw it as an opportunity to finally put this all behind them.
