Sami Zayn reportedly signed the new WWE contract, putting an end to doubts over his future in the ring.

According to Fightful Select, this is the case. There’s no news on how long the former El Generico’s new contract will last, although he’s said to have re-enlisted with the market leaders for the coming years.

Zayn kept terms of his contract discussions confidential, according to one of the news outlet sources, even though WWE made it clear that they wished to keep him.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Zayn’s re-signing with WWE was a major subject in the locker room in December. The report from Fightful practically verifies that rumor.

Zayn’s prior contract was set to expire in late 2021 or early 2022, depending on the amount of time that may be added due to dormancy. Sami has devoted his future to Vince McMahon’s promotion, much like Kevin Owens.

Since signing a developmental agreement with WWE in 2013, the 37-year-old has stayed with the company. Despite the fact that his journey has undergone some big twists and turns along the road, he continues to be a consistent presence on television, having flourished as a mid-card heel after flipping in 2019. On SmackDown, Sami is presently warring with Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville.

Sami Zayn’s Future In WWE

Zayn has developed a conspiracy theory reputation in recent years, which has led to matches with the likes of Logan Paul and Johnny Knoxville, as well as two Intercontinental Championship reigns. He was also recently named the No. 1 challenger for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship, despite his battle with Reigns was cut short by Brock Lesnar.

Around the same time as the initial news of Zayn’s signing surfaced, it was revealed that his longtime closest friend Kevin Owens had also signed a new WWE contract. In an interview with TVA Sports, he stated why he opted to continue with the organization.

At the same time as the original news of Zayn’s agreement was public, it was revealed that his longstanding closest friend Kevin Owens had also signed a new WWE contract. In an interview with TVA Sports, he stated why he opted to continue with the organization.

“The decision was pretty easy because it really was the best thing for my family. When it comes to that, it’s always a pretty easy decision. WWE has been my home for seven years, so I have a sense of belonging,” Owens said (translated from French). “Basically, I spent most of my career there. When you look at all the wrestling companies I’ve wrestled in, in WWE, that’s where I’ve been the longest, that’s where I need to be for the next few years. That’s how I felt and that’s the decision I made.”
