Ron Simmons began his professional wrestling career in 1986. Being a footballer, his build was strong and he created a very strong impact in the wrestling world. He created many factions which included legendary superstars like, The Rock and JBL, who were his partners, and Simmons as the faction leader. He has worked with almost all the top superstars in the WWE world. He is mostly recognized as the first African-American WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He has given many great moments. Being a top figure comes with many challenges, and he had to face them as well. Here we are, remembering some of his greatest rivalries and matches in WWE.

Vader

Ron Simmons’ historic WCW Championship victory crowned him the first black world champion in WCW history. When he defeated Vader to win the grand prize, Simmons did an excellent job of injecting extra emotion to the narrative. Despite the fact that people generally remember Simmons’ victory, Vader eventually won the rivalry. WCW had Vader terminate Simmons’ reign to formally end their conflict and continue going ahead as the company’s top heel.

Mick Foley

WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons won the WCW World Championship in 1992. Cactus Jack, who teamed up with Jake The Snake Roberts and The Barbarian, was one of Simmons’ opponents. At Clash Of The Champions XX, Foley faced up against Simmons for the championship. Their bout was heated, and both men beat each other up. Both men battled valiantly, but Simmons prevailed over Mick Foley to retain the belt.

Steiner Brothers

Simmons formed the tag team Doom with Butch Reed, who had a fresh attitude. The duo donned masks and posed a significant threat to the tag team divisions of WCW and NWA. Doom beat The Steiner Brothers, who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, in their first pay-per-view appearance. Doom fought The Steiner Brothers for the NWA World Tag Team Championship for the rest of the year. The feud ended with Doom losing their masks in a championship against mask match at Clash of Champions.
