The WWE seems to be sowing the seeds for The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. The teaser came on April 12th’s episode of Young Rock on NBC where a young Roman Reigns makes a brief cameo appearance.
During the episode, a young boy jumps on the lap of The Rock attempting to get him to hit him with a Samoan Drop.
Unfortunately, no one agrees to beat up their little relative, at which point the small child looks at the camera and shouts “acknowledge me!”
The Rock then narrates and points out this child’s name is Joe Anoa’i, and an infographic pops up on screen to show all of Joe’s accomplishments in WWE. Joe is none other than Roman Reigns.
Young Roman then puts The Rock in a headlock, but Johnson responds by saying:
“No, the world is not ready! A match that big can happen only at WrestleMania.”

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns thinks that if The Rock ever came back for a match, it would be against him.
The Tribal Chief and the People’s Champ are cousins and go a long way back. In fact, The Rock helped Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble in 2015 when he helped his cousin fend off both the Big Show and Kane, who at the time were part of the Authority. And because they share a close relationship, Reigns believes that The Rock would want to face him.
He said, “Us being very close and like family, I don’t think there’s any other choice. If he ever wanted to get back into a WWE ring, I am definitely the guy he’s going to want to be facing off against.
With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson now a household name in Hollywood and next year’s WrestleMania taking place in California, it would be fitting if the Brahma Bull came back for a match with Reigns there.
With Reigns now in a different zone in his career where everything he touches turns to gold and adding to that, the charisma and the hype that The Rock would bring to the table, it’s no surprise that the fans will want to see this fight happen.
