WWE has contacted a number of wrestlers who have been released since the COVID-19 outbreak began in March 2020 in the hopes of having them compete at Royal Rumble 2022 this coming Saturday (29 January). According to Fightful Select, this is the case. Former IIconics Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee were among those who were approached by WWE but declined since they are happy with their present career path outside of the industry leaders. Since beating Decay at Bound For Glory 2021 (October 23) and winning the Knockouts Tag Team Championships in their debut bout, the tandem has become IMPACT Wrestling’s Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

For the women’s Royal Rumble, Mickie James has already been announced. The current IMPACT Knockouts Champion was released by WWE on the same day as Lee and McKay (15 April 2021), however, she will appear in the over-the-top-rope battle royal for her new home.

Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Keith Lee, and others will be free agents once their WWE contracts expire in 2021. Despite WWE’s record-high profits in recent years, these roster changes are usually ascribed to “budget cuts.”

In the men’s Royal Rumble, WWE has 15 open places, while the women’s event has nine.

report: The Undertaker will attend WWE Royal Rumble 2022

The Undertaker will be in attendance at the Royal Rumble event on January 29th, according to PWInsider.

The Phenom, on the other hand, is unlikely to become engaged in the ring, as he may in St. Louis, Missouri, only to support his wife, Michelle McCool. She will compete in the women’s Royal Rumble bout, in case you didn’t know. An extract from the PWInsider report follows:

“While obviously anything is possible, it’s most likely he is attending the PPV as his wife, Michelle McCool will be competing in the Women’s Rumble match and not that he himself will be performing,” revealed Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

The fact that the Undertaker is in the building implies that anything can happen during the Royal Rumble. The corporation may also be getting the Undertaker to film some network-related video, but as of this writing, nothing has been verified.

The Undertaker was last seen on television in 2020 for his farewell angle at Survivor Series, and there have been various speculations regarding his reappearance since then. The Undertaker appears to be content with his retirement, but fans should not rule out a major surprise at the Royal Rumble.
