Sheamus is the first Irish world champion in WWE history and is also a three-time United States Champion and a five-time tag team champion.
Stephen Farrelly (born 28 January 1978, Dublin, Republic of Ireland) is an Irish professional wrestler and actor better known by his in-ring name Sheamus. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand.
Born in Dublin in Ireland, Sheamus was a brilliant sportsman from his childhood days. He played sports, such as rugby and football. After watching a lot of wrestling shows on TV he was inspired to become a wrestler, and shortly after, his formal training began. He made his formal debut after training for only six weeks.
After spending a few years in Irish and British wrestling, he made his debut in the WWE. He is the first Irish world champion in WWE history and is also a three-time United States Champion and a five-time tag team champion (four Raw and one SmackDown) with his tag team partner Cesaro. In addition to these championships, he won the 2010 King of the Ring tournament, the 2012 Royal Rumble match, and the 2015 Money in the Bank ladder match, making him the second wrestler (after Edge) to achieve all three accomplishments.
Sheamus was born in the Cabra suburb of Dublin on 28 January 1978 and attended Scoil Caoimhin Primary and the Gaelscoil Coláiste Mhuire Secondary School. During his school years, he sang in the Palestrina Choir until the age of 13; during this time, he appeared on the Irish shows The Late Late Show and Live at 3. Sheamus played Gaelic football for the Erin’s Isle team, where he was once proclaimed “sports star of the month”. He also played rugby union for the National College of Ireland, where he gained a National Diploma. He is a former IT technician and also worked as security for a nightclub, which led to him occasionally working as a bodyguard for Bono and Larry Mullen, Jr. of U2, as well as actress Denise van Outen.

In 2010, Sheamus made an unannounced debut in ECW and successfully beat several of the competitors, and later faced John Cena, the then WWE Champion. After successfully defeating Cena, he became the first Irish-born to win the WWE Championship.
He lost the WWE title to Triple H after a few weeks in an Elimination Chamber match. However, he managed to win the Championship again after defeating John Cena once more. Two months later he again lost the title to Randy Orton.
In 2011, he defeated the World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. He retained the title for a total of 210 days till he was defeated by Big Show. In 2015, he won the Money in the Bank contract and cashed it in on Roman Reigns and became the WWE Champion once again. Over the next few years, he became the United States Champion twice. Along with his partner Cesaro, he became a two-time WWE (Raw) Tag Team Champion as well.
