Joshua Samuel Fatu a.k.a Jey Uso was born on 22 August 1985. He is presently contracted to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand and is the current SmackDown Tag Team Champion in his fifth reign, which is the title’s longest reign at 276+ days. He is also a member of The Bloodline stable, which includes his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, and his cousin, Roman Reigns, as well as his special counsel, Paul Heyman.

Jey debuted in WWE’s developmental brand Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2009, when he became FCW Florida Tag Team Champions, after being trained since infancy by their father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi. He was promoted to the main roster the following year and has since been a seven-time tag team champion in WWE, winning the WWE (Raw) Tag Team Championship twice and the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.

They won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship three times in 2017, with a fourth reign in 2019 and the fifth reign in 2021. The Usos are the first team to hold the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Jey and Jimmy Uso are the only teams to have won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship, and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

He is also a part of the legendary Anoai wrestling family, which includes his father Rikishi, uncle Umaga, his father’s cousins the late WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna, Roman Reigns, and The Rock through a blood brotherhood between their great-grandfather Reverend Amituana’i Anoa’i and Peter Maivia.

Jey worked at FCW with his brother before making the move to the main roster. After a year in FCW, Jey was promoted to the main roster, where he and Tamina assaulted The Hart Family and Natalya. The team’s first feud was with The Hart Family, however, they were defeated in both the feud and the titles.

The Usos chased tag team gold for the first several years but were unsuccessful. The Usos joined NXT in 2013 and feuded with The Ascension. The tale concluded when Cameron was fired from the corporation and The Usos were reassigned to the main roster. They had numerous masterpieces when they returned, including The Shield and The Rhodes Family.

Winning the first WWE Tag Team Championship

The Usos won their first WWE Tag Team Championship in March when they defeated The New Age Outlaws. They lost the crown after 200 days to Goldust and Stardust. They won their second WWE Tag Team Championship in December, defeating The Miz and Damien Mizdow. However, in Fastlane, they were defeated by Cesaro and Tyson Kidd.

In 2016 with American Alpha they won their first SmackDown Tag Team Championship before WrestleMania 33. In 2017, they began the biggest rivalry of their careers with the New Day, and they bagged two more SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Rivalry with The Tribal Chief

Jey Uso began a rivalry for the Universal Championship with Roman Reigns in 2020. Before recognizing the Tribal Chief after facing him at Clash of Champions and Hell in a Cell. Later, Jey won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 37. The Usos won their seventh WWE and fifth SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Money in the Bank. The Usos beat Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs at WrestleMania 38.

Sami Zayn was put on trial by The Bloodline during the Raw is XXX episode to determine if he supports or opposes them. Paul Heyman asserted that Zayn would betray the Bloodline and was working with Kevin Owens. This persuaded Reigns, who requested Solo Sikoa to take him out before Jey intervened and played a videotape demonstrating Zayn’s commitment. Zayn was deemed “Not Guilty” by Reigns for the time being.

Longest reigning tag team

They defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) on the SmackDown program on November 11 to retain their titles, breaking The New Day’s previous record of 483 days and becoming the longest-reigning male tag team champions on the WWE main roster. [128] The Usos officially surpassed The New Day’s main roster tag team championship record on November 14, 2022, and on November 28 they surpassed Gallus’ NXT UK Tag Team Championship record of 497 days to become the longest-reigning male tag team champions in WWE history, regardless of title or roster status.

Walking out on Roman Reigns

In the weeks that followed, tensions between The Usos and Zayn reemerged. The Usos knocked Kevin Owens down and handcuffed him to the ring ropes after Reigns defeated Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. Zayn struck Reigns with a steel chair after declining to strike Owens. When Zayn was being attacked by Jimmy, Sikoa, and Reigns, Jey watched and walked out of the ring in disgust. Following the incident, Jey posted on Instagram that “[he’s] out” and did not show up on the subsequent SmackDown broadcast.

During the SmackDown program airing on February 10, Jey would appear to defend the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Title alongside Jimmy against Braun Strowman and Ricochet. Before the broadcast came to a close, Reigns instructed Heyman to tell The Usos to stay at home for the Canadian airings of SmackDown and Elimination Chamber the next week. The Usos were intended to be written off since their history of DUI offenses may prevent them from entering Canada, where such offenses are treated more seriously. They would, nonetheless, be there to support Reigns in keeping his title.

On the March 6 edition of Raw, Jey appeared in the audience after Jimmy’s loss to Zayn in their bout. After the bout, Jey gave Zayn what seemed like an embrace before superkicking him, demonstrating his commitment to The Bloodline. Prior to Cody Rhodes rushing outside to protect Zayn, The Usos and Sikoa attacked Zayn. Reunited Owens and Zayn made a challenge to The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title at WrestleMania 39 on the March 20 edition of Raw, and The Usos accepted.
