Matthew Jason Bloom a.k.a A-Train was born on November 14, 1972. He is a former professional wrestler and football player from the United States. Currently, he works for WWE as the head trainer at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Bloom is best known for his in-ring appearances with WWE from 1999 to 2004 as Prince Albert, Albert, and A-Train, and from 2012 to 2014 as Lord Tensai and Tensai, as well as his appearances in Japan from 2005 to 2012 as Giant Bernard (, Jaianto Bndo) with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), and Pro Wrestling Noah (Noah). Bloom has won the GHC Tag Team Championship, the IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the WWF Intercontinental Championship over his career.

Early Life

Bloom was born in the Massachusetts town of Peabody. He graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School with three football and basketball letters, two-track and field letters, and one baseball letter. He subsequently went on to teach mathematics and English at Revere High School to pupils with behavioral issues and deaf youngsters. Bloom, who had desired to wrestle professionally as a youngster, met wrestler and wrestling trainer Killer Kowalski and indicated an interest in learning how to wrestle after awarding his three most suitable students with a trip to a professional wrestling match. Bloom accepted Kowalski’s invitation to attend his school, and he chose to abandon teaching to pursue a career as a wrestler.

Early Career

Bloom fought his debut WWA bout on May 15, 1998, losing to Tiger Ali Singh. During his brief stint in the WWA, he faced prominent stars like Sgt. Slaughter and Bart Gunn. Bloom made his NWA debut in November 1998, losing to Shawn Stasiak. Referee Freddy Sparta gave him the gimmick of Baldo, which had his entering the ring wearing a fur rug. Bloom was hired by the World Wrestling Federation after being referred to talent scout Tom Prichard by George Steele (WWF). Bloom won the Young Guns Championship and the Heavyweight Championship, and went on to defeat Memphis stalwart Jerry Lawler to become the first PPW Heavyweight Champion.

A-Train in WWE

A-Train made his WWF television debut on Sunday Night Heat on April 11, 1999, saving Droz from being beaten by Big Boss Man. Bloom was introduced as Droz’s personal body artist, and the two formed a short-lived duo with Key, nicknamed Prince Albert (a play on the Prince Albert genital piercing). Droz and Albert continued to work together until Droz’s paralysis in October 1999, when Albert became the Big Boss Man’s apprentice. Following the debut of Bull Buchanan, who established a tag team with the Big Boss Man, the two split up in early 2000.

Joining forces with Heyman and Big Show

Following that, he spent most of his time on Velocity until December 2002, when he teamed up with Paul Heyman and Big Show, prompting Heyman to convince him to change his name to A-Train and debut new gear, the latter of which led to fans chanting “Shave Your Back!” at him during matches due to his hairy torso. At No Mercy, A-Train was defeated by Chris Benoit, and at Survivor Series, he was on Brock Lesnar‘s side in a ten-man Survivor Series match, which he lost to Kurt Angle’s team, in which he was pinned by Bradshaw.

A-Train WWE release

To choose who would face Lesnar for the WWE Championship at No Way Out, General Manager Paul Heyman arranged a SmackDown! brand-exclusive Royal Rumble. Eddie Guerrero eliminated A-Train and went on to win the bout. On March 22, 2004, A-Train was transferred to the Raw brand, and on June 7, he made his official Raw debut, losing to Chris Jericho. His most recent bout was a defeat on Heat versus Val Venis. He was sidelined with a ruptured rotator cuff two weeks later, and his WWE contract was terminated on November 1, 2004, before he could return.

Return to WWE

He made his appearance in a segment on Raw on March 19 under the new ring moniker “Lord Tensai.” Bloom made his WWE re-debut as Lord Tensai on the April 2 edition of Raw, where he was accompanied by his servant Sakamoto before beating Alex Riley. Tensai went on a winning spree in the weeks after, pinfalling lower-card wrestlers and even main-card stars like John Cena and WWE Champion CM Punk. Tensai ditched the “Lord” element of his ring name and his Japanese attire used during his entrance on the May 21 edition of Raw. Following this, Tensai proceeded to lose significantly more regularly during the remainder of 2012, beginning with John Cena bringing his victory streak to an end.

Retirement from the game

Bloom was removed off television when Tons of Funk split, and in January 2014, he began working as a commentator in WWE’s developmental territory NXT under the new ring name “Jason Albert.” Bloom announced his retirement from in-ring combat on August 7 and declared that he will resume his teaching career as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center. Following the departure of Bill DeMott, Bloom was allegedly appointed to temporary NXT head trainer on March 6, 2015. Bloom was appointed to NXT head coach from his temporary position on May 19.

Who is A-Train’s wife ?

A-Trian’s wife is Farah Louise. On September 3, 2005, Bloom married Farah Louise. Not much is known about Farah but one thing is for sure she likes to keep her life very private, as much as she can. It is unknown whether Bloom and Louise have any kids. But it can be said that A-Train is a total family man, who loves his family and wife. This can be proven as he is been married for over 16 years and still going happy. Cheers to Farah Louise and A-Train.
