Goldberg is one of the most prominent and undisputable names in the pro-wrestling history. Unquestionably, Goldberg is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He rose to fame thanks to his 173-match winning streak and his ability to dominate opponents. In fact, Goldberg, a squash match expert, is so strong that he typically takes only a few seconds to defeat his opponents.

But Goldberg wasn’t always Goldberg. Bill Goldberg did not want to be called Goldberg. So, it was the time when Bill had to create a ring name when he was learning how to wrestle. He ultimately chose the moniker “The Hybrid” for himself. WCW, the organization with which he was then under contract, however, insisted that he couldn’t use it since it would prevent them from making good sales on the merchandise.

Goldberg hearing that said, he would never be well-liked enough to make a good merchandise sale. Bill had to create a ring name when he was learning how to wrestle. He would never be well-liked enough to make a sale, according to Goldberg. WCW disagreed and chose to adopt Bill Goldberg’s last name as his ring moniker, which he has been referred to as ever since. This shows WCW’s huge vision they had for Goldberg as he is one of the biggest wrestling stars in the world.

The possibility of Bill Goldberg returning to the ring is still open

He has only competed for WWE four times in the last two years. Despite being 56 years old and no longer being as muscular or strong as he was 25 years ago, Goldberg has shown over the past two years that he is still able to perform his ringside magic.

Bill last competed against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, which was held in Saudi Arabia a year ago. When asked if he would contemplate another match, Bill said it is a serious possibility.

“You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one,” says Goldberg. “That’s all I can say. I made a deal with the devil and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match. At the end of the day, at 56, it’s not something where I’m sitting by the phone waiting for a call. I’ve got a few ideas of how to do it on my own, possibly in Israel. So never say never.”
