Cody Rhodes appears to be making good progress in mounting a WWE comeback. Rhodes is healing well from the torn pectoral muscle he sustained before facing Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell 2022, according to Dave Meltzer’s article in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former AEW star, who has been out since June, has been training with “elite trainers” to gain bulk and get to a healthy 240 pounds.

Even with the extended injury hiatus, Rhodes has remained a prominent figure in wrestling in 2022. He quit his Executive Vice President job and returned to the organization he initially left in 2016 at WrestleMania 38 after switching from AEW to WWE earlier in the year. This sparked a rivalry with Seth Rollins that resulted in three tremendously well-received premium live event matches. Until the competition on January 28, he will continue to be a strong favorite in the Royal Rumble 2023.

Cody Rhodes may return sooner than expected

Some people were surprised when Cody Rhodes made his return at WrestleMania 38, but others were prepared for it because it had been rumored for weeks. After three years in AEW, Cody defeated Seth Rollins in a dramatic way in his WWE comeback match. Cody made it plain on Raw the following night that he wanted to win the WWE Championship.

Cody and Rollins had a fantastic match at WrestleMania Backlash in May as their rivalry progressed, and Cody prevailed there as well. There was still a bout to be played even though it seemed like WWE might end the feud.

The tragic news that Cody tore his right pectoral muscle while practicing for the bout, set them up for the main event of the Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event. That meant Cody would have to have surgery to treat the wound, which would cause him to lose a lot of time. Amazingly, despite the injuries, Cody and Rollins had a fantastic match, and Cody won. The next night on Raw, Rollins was a cunning heel who used a sledgehammer to target Cody’s injuries.

Immediately following that attack on Raw, Cody underwent surgery to repair a torn pectoral. Since the Hell in a Cell match took place on June 5, it has been almost six months since his surgery. Many people believed that Cody might soon be making his WWE comeback after Brandi’s update.
