One of the most significant tag teams in the annals of professional wrestling is Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. They rank among the teams in the business with the most awards. Despite having a long list of achievements, they are most known for their involvement in ladder matches, including the first-ever Tag Team Ladder Match in WWE, which also included Christian and Edge.

Recently, Matt Hardy debated the ideal fairy tale conclusion for The Hardy Boyz’s tag team history. Over the years, all four of the guys have enjoyed great success as singles competitors. Matt Hardy, however, asserts that in an ideal scenario, he and Jeff Hardy would battle Edge and Christian for the final time to complete their run as a tag team.

In a recent episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy made the following statement saying, “I mean, I think in a perfect world, it’s Edge & Christian. You know, those are the guys that we became stars with and our rivalry is just so iconic. I feel like that would be a pretty amazing way to end it, have one last match with those guys.” Watch the whole episode here.

Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy beat Young Bucks in their last match together

The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, would be the only other choice for a retirement tag team fight, according to Matt Hardy. The most recent tag team fight between Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy is against Matt and Nick Jackson at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. After beating The Young Bucks, Matt Hardy anticipated that The Hardy Boyz will go down in history as the greatest tag team of all time in 2022.

Although he is still formally contracted to AEW, Jeff Hardy apparently won’t return to the company’s programming for some time. Jeff Hardy won’t be making an appearance on AEW television anytime soon. Only a few weeks after a problematic performance at Double or Nothing against The Young Bucks, “The Charismatic Enigma” was detained once more in June.

Hardy earlier entered a not guilty plea to the DUI charges brought against him after his arrest on Monday, June 13. His third DUI-related offense in 10 years is the one at hand.

After being fired from WWE on December 9 following news that he had turned down the company’s offer of treatment, Jeff Hardy made his All Elite Wrestling debut on March 9 at Dynamite. Fans were alarmed by Jeff’s reckless in-ring behavior and aging body after his fight with Darby Allin and his reunion with his brother Matt. We don’t know precisely when we’ll see him again at this point.
