WWE will have yet another example of not adhering to the brand divide for Raw and SmackDown mere days after hosting this year’s Draught, which has led to criticism from fans. WWE is implementing a new marketing technique whereby they post on social media the dates and locations where a specific celebrity will be appearing. Roman Reigns will likely appear more frequently at WWE events, particularly broadcast and private shows. Reigns received a pay rise and had his WWE schedule, which consists of primarily performances for TV and PLE events, reduced when he signed a new contract with the company last year.

Cody Rhodes promotes SmackDown

They released Cody Rhodes’ June itinerary on Wednesday. The recent weeks have seen Rhodes, a Raw star, and Brock Lesnar engaged in a feud. Both men have victories over the other, with Rhodes defeating Lesnar at Backlash and Lesnar defeating Rhodes at Night of Champions. Rhodes made a promo about wanting a third match on Monday’s episode of Raw. As can be seen in the advertisement for Rhodes on Friday’s SmackDown, WWE.

Rhodes to appear for a dark match

Rhodes probably won’t do much more than show up for a dark match, but SmackDown’s AJ Styles just made an appearance on Monday’s Raw regardless of not being initially scheduled for the show and having already left after Night of Champions before it was decided at the last minute to bring him on, so it’s possible.

Other stars promoting the event

Currently, WWE is presenting The Miz and Rhodes as Raw stars while promoting Friday’s SmackDown. Although it’s likely the Miz and Rhodes won’t be participating on the event, they might simply turn up for a dark match. Roman Reigns marking 1000+ days as WWE Universal Champion, LA Knight vs. Montez Ford in a Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match, and Zelina Vega vs. Lacey Evans in a Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match are among the already announced events for the evening.
