Attendees at Thursday night’s Northeast Wrestling Wrestlefest 26 show were treated to a surprise appearance by former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

The Death Rider made an unexpected cameo to kick off the evening, battling and beating Channing Thomas in the first bout of the night. This is Mox’s second appearance in the ring after his comeback from alcohol recovery.

Bully Ray, a WWE Hall of Famer, teamed up with NZO to face Adam Scherr and Erick Redbeard in the main event at Wrestlefest 26. Bully recently sparked a stir on Busted Open Radio by claiming that Mox should have apologized to the fans for his AEW absence; statements that have been lambasted by Renee Paquette, Paige, and Mick Foley, among others.

On AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night, Moxley returned to our screens, giving an inspirational, emotional, ass-kicking promo in which he lay naked and then warned the AEW roster that he was ravenous for blood. That was followed by a bout on Friday’s Rampage, in which he defeated ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page and looked to build up a tantalizing Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson feud.

Moxley will defend the GCW World Championship against Homicide at the packed The Wrld on GCW show from the famous Hammerstein Ballroom tonight, after breaking skulls the night before.

Jon Moxley in-ring return

On the January 19 edition of AEW Dynamite, former AEW world champion Jon Moxley returned and gave an awesome in-ring promo. As he took to the microphone, the crowd erupted in delight as the former Champion made his long-awaited comeback. He talked about being tormented by demons and how his wounds define who he is.
Mox praised his fans for their backing and said he had gone through hell before challenging anyone in the AEW locker room to a fight. Moxley smashed the mike on the mat and grabbed his jacket before heading back into the crowd at the end of the segment.

Jon Moxley made his in-ring return against Men Of The Year, Ethan Page in the greatest AEW Rampage of the year so far. Fans in Washington greeted Jon Moxley with a standing ovation when he returned for his first match since his comeback. Jon Moxley landed elbow strikes and knees to the face on Ethan Page before securing the Bulldog Choke for the victory.

We noticed Bryan Danielson observing the match as Moxley made his way out of the arena following the match. The two stars sparred for a brief moment, presumably hinting at a future AEW feud.
