“The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, will always be remembered as one of the greatest pro wrestlers in the world. As, it wasn’t just his wrestling skills, but his mic skills were impeccably good as well. For five decades he was one of the most integral parts of the wrestling business, as he retired though but he never retired as such. Working as a booker, sometimes as a trainer guiding new wrestlers and also, writing creatives. Also, in his long career, he has been in various feuds. So, let’s look at some of his greatest feuds in his career.

The Four Horsemen

Four Horsemen’s series of War Games clashes with Dusty and his comrades earned them a spot on this list. The conflict between Dusty Rhodes and the Horsemen arose mostly as a result of Dusty’s disagreements with Blanchard and Ric Flair. Dusty was compelled to recruit allies once the Horsemen formed. Nikita Koloff and the Road Warrior aided him. Dusty Rhodes played in 11 War Games bouts during his career. He faced the Four Horsemen nine times in the game. This statistic alone demonstrates how legendary the enmity between these two parties was back then.

Billy Graham

The World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) of Vince McMahon Sr. featured a major conflict between Superstar Billy Graham and Dusty Rhodes. Billy was the WWWF champion at the moment, and he needed a quality opponent to make his reign a success. Dusty was chosen as the winner. Graham and Dusty went on to have a string of bloody matches. Two of the feud’s most famous battles took place in the famed Madison Square Garden. Both times, the WWWF championship was on the line. Dusty won the first match by count out, while Graham won the second match. Graham won the second match, a Texas Death match, with a mid-ring crash that kept Dusty down for the three count.

Ric Flair

Ric Flair was Dusty Rhodes’s most formidable opponent. With these two, the National Wrestling Association made a lot of money. This was also the starting point for the previously stated Four Horsemen conflict. When it came to arrogance and cockiness, Flair was unrivalled. Dusty had taken a similar course, so when these two collided, it was a spectacular crash. Flair defeated Dusty Rhodes to win his first NWA heavyweight championship. The year was 1981, and Flair’s reign lasted 476 days. During the Reign, he became the most dominant wrestler in the territories, and it all started with his bout with Rhodes.
