Drew McIntyre’s sister-in-law died suddenly just a few hours ago. This was really terrifying news for the McIntyre family. Needless to say, Drew’s wife Kaitlyn Frohnapfel would have been the most devastated by his abrupt death. Actually, she disclosed her sister’s heartbreaking death on her Facebook page.

This development will exacerbate the contractual disagreements between WWE and McIntyre. There is no set date for The Scottish Warrior to return to television. The former WWE Champion was selected to Monday Night Raw at this year’s Draught. Despite being entirely cured, he has yet to appear on the red brand.

McIntyre’s comeback has lately been shown to be more of a ‘creative’ problem than a medical one. For the uninitiated, he still has a few months left on his current WWE contract. In addition, if necessary, the promotion might add injured time, which the Scotsman was unable to contend for.

There was a buzz on social media about McIntyre maybe joining AEW this summer. With the official announcement of All In at Wembley Stadium, people speculated that the 37-year-old may perhaps make his debut there. However, it is not legally permissible. McIntyre is still under a WWE contract, which prevents him from leaving anytime soon.

Is Drew McIntyre going to leave WWE? What’s his WWE status?

It can be recently seen that Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV for quite a while now. According to a recent PW Torch claim, McIntyre was “physically beat up” after his Intercontinental championship Triple Threat with Sheamus and Gunther at WrestleMania 39 last weekend. However, Keller suggests that this is only half of the problem with the 37-year-old two-time WWE champion.

While the company was in Southern California for WrestleMania, rumors circulated that McIntyre is in the final year of his current WWE contract and that the two parties aren’t close to reaching an agreement. Keller’s sources provided the following information regarding the negotiations:

“… there’s been talk that he is unhappy with his current situation in WWE and I’m hearing it’s kind of a mix of creative and money and what kind of offer he’s getting for a renewal. It sounds like WWE is taking seriously the possibility that he is going to let his deal run out rather than agree to something that he believes is less than he deserves or less than he what he thinks he has coming.” H/t WrestleNews.co

It is still not clear whether “The Scottish Warrior” wants to leave WWE. Drew McIntyre is a huge draw, WWE wouldn’t want one of their biggest stars who kept the company on his back during the COVID pandemic to just go like this.
