Cody Rhodes has been on a roll ever since returning to WWE at WrestleMania last year where he defeated Seth Rollins and received a rapturous ovation. Ever since then, he had another two matches with Rollins and was then on the injury table as he was out with a torn pectoral muscle for over 8 months. He made his triumphant return at the Royal Rumble and won it by outlasting 30 other men to print his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania where he will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal title.

Recently, when John Cena made his return on RAW, he introduced Cody Rhodes to the fans in the arena and they both shared a warm embrace at the top of the ramp. Cody was speaking to Stadium Astro and revealed what he spoke with Cena at that very moment. He said, “What he said to me on Raw was, I was telling him if he ever does another match, I would like (to work with him), and I think you could hear him pretty well. He says, ‘I can’t promise that.’ I also didn’t want to make it about myself at that moment, so I just endlessly thanked him, and then he was at the Nightmare Factory a week later talking to our students.”

If Cody Rhodes and John Cena ever face each other in the ring once again, it will be a fight that will be etched in the minds of the fans forever.

“Cody Rhodes has always been on John Cena’s level” – Booker T

Cody Rhodes has made quite the impact ever since he came back to the WWE. After making his jaw-dropping return at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Seth Rollins in a five-star match, Rhodes has since gone on to have two more matches with Rollins with the latest one being inside Hell in a Cell. What made that match even more impressive was that Cody wrestled with a torn pectoral muscle and he not only competed but went on to win the match in what was a once-in-a-lifetime performance.

A lot of wrestlers have been speaking highly of Rhodes and recently, WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T also joined in on the praises. Speaking on his Hall of Fame Podcast, the five-time WCW Champion said, “I wanted to work with Cody Rhodes, I wanted to have my last match in the ring in WWE with Cody. I always thought Cody was at the same level as Seth Rollins, Batista, and all of that other group that came out, John Cena, and all of that. I always thought Cody was just as talented.”
