WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently suggested that Rob Van Dam should make a surprise appearance at the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match. In 2001, Van Damme signed a contract with a Stamford-based company. He spent almost six years as a regular competitor, during which he won multiple titles, including WWE and his ECW Championship. In 2013, RVD returned for a short time before he left again in 2014. In recent years he has made several sporadic appearances. In 2021, he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the age of 52. In the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T expressed his desire to see Van Dam return to Royale for his Rumble match in a surprise. He added that the ECW legend’s potential return could resonate with San Antonio audiences.
Rob Van Dam last appeared in a Royal Rumble match in 2009. He entered the fight in 25th place and lasted 14 minutes before Chris was defeated by Jericho. The former World Champion recently hinted at his return in the 2023 Royal Rumble match. When a fan tweeted that Van Damme wasn’t showing up at RAW XXX because the company might save him for the Royal Rumble, the 52-year-old commented, “It works for him.” explained. “RVD, yes, exactly. RVD is definitely going to be a crowd favorite at this school. I mean, it made an impact on everyone’s lives in some way, so yeah, RVD would definitely be a good choice,” he said.
