Roman Reigns is quite simply the most dominant wrestler in WWE, if not the world today. The Tribal Chief as he is fondly known has been the Undisputed WWE Universal champion for over 900 days and is set to defend his title against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.
Roman comes from a family that has a rich history of wrestlers. His father was Sika Anoa’i and was a tag team champion in the WWE three times. His own brother was Rosey, who was mainly a tag team competitor with Umaga and The Hurricane. Reigns is also related to Rikishi and his sons Jimmy and Jey. And one of Reigns’ most famous cousins is none other than The Rock.
But what many fans don’t know is that Roman has one more very famous cousin and he is none other than WWE legend and Hall of Famer, Yokozuna. Yokozuna, during his time in the WWE struck fear in the heart of every wrestler because of his height and weight. He stood at 6 feet 3 inches and weighed over 130 kgs.
Like Roman, Yokozuna won the WWE title, not once but twice and also won the WWE Tag Team titles twice with Owen Hart as his partner. He also won the Royal Rumble in 1993 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

Roman Reigns is the most talked about wrestler in the world right now and has been for the last year ever since he became the Undisputed WWE Universal champion at WrestleMania 38 when he beat Brock Lesnar. He has been having great match after great match and has been captivating crowds in a way that has not been seen since the likes of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
He has been carrying the company on his back for the last three years and if recent reports are to be believed, then the Tribal Chief will get a much deserved break from television after WrestleMania 39. According to WrestleVotes, Roman is expected to take a ‘significant break’ following the show of shows in April. The report also says that Reigns will not be in action until SummerSlam in August.
To some fans, this is shocking news and would be disappointed at not being able to see their beloved WWE star in action but to others, it would seem like Roman deserves this break after carrying and representing the WWE in top notch fashion for over three years. This also suggests that Cody Rhodes will beat Reigns at WrestleMania 39 and given the hype around the American Nightmare, it would be perfect if the WWE let Cody hog the limelight and let Roman take a well deserved rest.
