Andre made his WWE debut in 1982 when Vince McMahon took over the company from his father. He needed new wrestlers to expand his company, and Andre was one of the very first wrestlers that he signed up. Andre was so important to Vince that he made several exceptions for him including allowing him to fight in New Japan Pro Wrestling. One of Andre’s greatest feuds was with Killer Khan who was also known as the Mongolian Giant. Another rival of his was Big John Studd. However, Andre ended up losing his matches by disqualification as nobody was able to pin him down.
