The WWE house event on Thursday had to be cut short due to an apparent injury to AJ Styles’ left leg during a trios bout. In Hershey, Pennsylvania, Styles was competing with The OC against The Judgement Day when, according to witness accounts, Styles performed a maneuver over the top rope to the outside that led to him holding his left leg or ankle afterward.

When there was difficulty, the match was called off early by the referee, who held up the X sign. Styles needed Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson to assist him to the back as authorities arrived to check on him.

With the exception of a two-week absence in November 2021 due to a “non-injury medical issue,” the 45-year-old, AJ Styles has been exceptionally healthy in recent periods. He lost some time in 2020 due to a shoulder injury sustained during that year’s Royal Rumble after being hit by Edge with a spear.
