The WWE superstar is addressing the situation and the seriousness of his ailment a day after rumors that he had sustained an ankle injury at a home event spread. AJ Styles ended 2022 with the announcement that he would be out for a while coming ahead, capping off a year that hasn’t been nice for prominent stars in WWE when it comes to injuries.

The news will be distressing for wrestling fans, as AJ Styles took to Twitter to confirm the rumors that he had sustained a serious injury. Given that the superstar is presently recovering from a fractured ankle, don’t anticipate seeing Styles participate in forthcoming WWE events:

AJ Styles won’t need a surgery

Although it’s wonderful to learn that the 45-year-old superstar won’t require surgery, it appears he won’t be participating in any in-ring matches for some time. According to NHS.UK, a fractured ankle may require up to eight weeks to recover completely. And considering his in-ring technique, it may take Styles even longer to rehab the ankle and make sure it’s strong enough for him to execute the particular maneuvers he’s known for.

It’s important to note that AJ Styles won’t be allowed to compete in the next Royal Rumble event, even if he is only out for a minimum of six weeks. He will no longer be eligible to compete in the Elimination Chamber if he is sidelined for seven or eight weeks. This raises the possibility that Styles won’t compete in a significant pay-per-view until WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, which is unfortunate.

A rough year with many injuries

WWE had a difficult year in 2022 due to injuries, as many fans are eagerly anticipating the comebacks of stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. While Orton’s potential comeback date to the ring is still unknown, Rhodes appeared to hint that it may be sooner rather than later after surgery to repair his torn pec.

We can only hope that AJ Styles recovers well and quickly so he can resume providing the WWE with high-caliber matches. While they wait to view WrestleMania season, fans can witness his finest battles to date with a Peacock Premium subscription!
