Since September 30, Kevin Owens hasn’t competed in a WWE televised bout. He has however continued to compete on the house show circuit, mainly going up against Theory or teaming up with Johnny Gargano. Over the weekend, Main Event took place in Wisconsin, including another match between The Prize Fighter and Theory. Sadly, following the concert, several in attendance claimed on social media that Kevin Owens looked to have hurt himself during the brawl.

On r/SquaredCircle, Reddit member u/grey9802 posted the following: “Kevin Owens planted his right foot & seemed to have hurt his knee in a match tonight against Austin Theory. The match wrapped up quickly & he limped on his way to the back with help from the referee.” Several Twitter users also witnessed this. Fan @MattBlaustein gave the following account on the platform: “As the person who broke the Kevin Owens news, felt I should give a bit more information as to what happened at #WWEMadison: • dropped from a turnbuckle and jammed his knee • pounded the mat while clutching it and talking to a ref • WAS able to get to his feet and hit stunner.”

Will Kevin Owens be there at the Survivor Series

Because Sami Zayn has grown weary of The Bloodline, WWE put the brakes on Kevin Owens’ rise. According to reports, KO and Zayn were supposed to start a relationship, but Triple H smartly decided against it because the former El Generico has recently been the highlight of both Raw and SmackDown. Some fans hoped that Kevin Owens would join the squad assembled to face The Bloodline as Survivor Series approached. For the five-on-five WarGames bout, Sheamus, The Brawling Brutes, and Drew McIntyre require a fifth player. From a fantasy booking standpoint, Owens made a lot of sense given his recent history with Roman Reigns and the long-standing friendship with Zayn.

Now it’s uncertain if he’ll be able to compete at the exclusive live event on November 26. It’s important to note that since November 12, when the alleged injury happened, neither WWE nor Owens have made any statements. These are first-person tales of the Wisconsin home show, so it’s important to keep in mind that the 38-year-old may have only had a little bug or stinging. It is thought that professional wrestlers never perform at full capacity. That seems reasonable given the nature of the job. Even the most straightforward locations can go awry. The contest between Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship last month is an illustration of that. Let’s hope KO is ok and can make a comeback for WWE.
