In a recent interview, Zelina Vega remembers beating John Cena during a mixed tag team match on the SmackDown program from January 1, 2019. Due to an injury, Vega was now sidelined and hadn’t entered the ring since April. She recovered from the injuries, though, and this past weekend she made an appearance on WWE SmackdownLive to smash members of the HitRow with a new group dubbed Legado Del Fantasma. She just provided an update on her WWE comeback and addressed her fans in her statement.

At about the same time, Vega shared a video from a match she had on WWE SmackDown in January 2019 on her Instagram Stories. The match in question paired Becky Lynch and John Cena versus Vega and Andrade. Vega was able to hurt the seasoned wrestler despite the fact that Lynch and Cena won the match. She put the following in the retro video’s caption: She wrote, “I did that. Me. So cool. Queen ish,”.

Becky Lynch is also one of the woman superstar to takedown John Cena

Becky Lynch unexpectedly tossed John Cena out of the ring in the closing seconds of the contest. In order to secure the victory for her squad, she subsequently used the Disarm-Her on Zelina Vega and forced her to capitulate. After the bout, The Man extended a handshake to Cena, but he was mocked by him by doing the “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture.

Vega has nothing but praises for Cena

Vega spoke candidly about competing against Cena in the ring and was all praise for the 16-time world champion. She said, “I have to say that was one of the most mind-blowing experiences ever. I call him the puppet master. He was able to control me, my partner, Becky, the ref, the audience. It was just so cool to see but also people in the back, you know, he’s always someone that you can approach for advice, someone that you can just kind of pick his brain, because he’s been doing this for so long.

Since Cena hasn’t competed in a WWE bout this year, it seems improbable that he would do so before 2022 is through. The most recent speculations, however, suggest that Cena will make a comeback prior to WrestleMania 39. According to the rumors, Austin Theory and John Cena will square off in a singles bout at WrestleMania.
