WWE has revealed the twelve candidates that will compete in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament, which will begin this week on “WWE Raw” and “WWE SmackDown.” Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura will all be engaged with the red brand. Meanwhile, Edge, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus will be in action on Friday night.

On each show, two triple-threat matches will take held, with the winners facing off later that night. Those who win their second match will advance to WWE Night Of Champions, where the winner will be named WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

It is unknown who will compete in each triple threat match, but one of these 12 guys will be the first to wield WWE’s newest championship. Several of the competitors have talked publicly about their desire for the championship, including Rhodes, Rollins, and Balor, and all of them are coming off victories at WWE Backlash. Several of the participants have previously held WWE World championships, with the likes of Edge, Styles, and Mysterio providing a wealth of experience.

Paul Heyman teased Roman Reigns capturing the new World championship to add to his current gold, however, he will not be participating in the competition and will instead be defending his own Undisputed WWE Universal Championships at the forthcoming premium live event.

Prior to the WWE draft, Triple H introduces the new World Heavyweight Championship belt

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) universe is about to have a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has devised a massive strategy to bring back the historic World Heavyweight Championship. “A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned” during the Night of Champions, according to WWE. The premium live pay-per-view event is set for May 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The surprising piece of information was disclosed on Tuesday by WWE’s official Twitter handle. “Who will be the NEW World Heavyweight Champion on May 27 at WWE Night of Champions,” WWE tweeted.

Roman Reigns, on the other hand, is on the verge of accomplishing something extraordinary. Reigns will be the worldwide champion for the next 1000 days. In August 2020, Reigns began his second reign as Universal Champion.

WWE had already proposed a new moniker for the event, King & Queen of the Ring, for the following month. The return of the King and Queen of the Ring was expected for the first time since October 2021. However, the relocation did not happen, and WWE chose to resurrect the Night of Champions. From 2008 through 2015, WWE held an annual pay-per-view event called the Night of Champions.
