Haryana claimed the top spot in the men’s and women’s freestyle events, while Delhi secured first place in Greco-Roman in the recently conducted National under-23 Wrestling Championships 2022. Mansi Ahlawat outplayed Manisha of Rajasthan in women’s 59kg to clinch the national title. Earlier in June, Mansi had won a gold at the Bolat Turlykhanov Cup Wrestling Meet 2022. She is also a member of the Indian team for the upcoming World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade. The women’s 68kg saw Haryana’s Radhika, the reigning Asian champion and world bronze medalist in U23, becoming the national champion. She defeated Pratiksha of Maharashtra via technical superiority in her final bout. In Greco-Roman, Haryana’s Rupin who had won a bronze in the Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov in February this year emerged as the winner.

Men’s Freestyle: 57kg: Rahul (Del) bt Suraj (Mah) by fall. 65kg: Anuj (Har) bt Jaskaran (Pun) by points. 79kg: Anuj Tomar (UP) bt Chander (Har) by points. 97kg: Sahil (Pun) bt Pardeep (Har) by tech sup.

Women’s Freestyle: 53kg: Pooja (Har) bt Manshi (UP) by fall. 59kg: Mansi (Har) bt Manisha (Raj) by tech sup. 68kg: Radhika (Har) bt Pratiksha (Mah) by tech sup. 72kg: Sunita (Har) bt Laxmi (UP) by fall.

Men’s Greco-Roman: 55kg: Rupin (Har) bt Laishram (SSCB) by points. 67kg: Vinayak (Mah) bt Anuj (Del) by technical superiority. 82kg: Neeraj (Del) bt Parveen (SSCB) by tech sup. 130kg: Parvesh (Har) bt Deepanshu (Del) by tech sup.
