The second week of FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League is coming to an end and USA will take on Poland on Sunday before heading into a one week’s break. Both sides are heading into the tie on the back of convincing victories. USA defeated Bulgaria 3-1 on Saturday, while Poland thrashed Australia 3-0 on the same day. Both nations have been very impressive in this edition of the competition so far, having won six of their seven games. Poland sit at the second spot in the 16-team table with 18 points while the United States are one place behind them with 17 points.

On Saturday, USA got the better of Bulgaria with a scoreline of 25-12, 20-25, 26-24, 25-23. USA began the second week with two consecutive wins, thrashing Serbia and Iran. Sitting third on the table, the USA are four points behind leaders France, who have played eight games. Sunday’s fixture has all the elements to be a thriller as both teams are undefeated in their last five games. Just like the USA, Poland have won all three of their second week’s fixtures, starting with a 3-1 win over Brazil before thrashing Iran and Australia 3-0. Against Australia on Saturday, the scoreboard read, 25-17, 25-19, 25-14.

A fresh new format was enforced for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League ahead of the 2022 edition. The revised format will feature 16 men’s teams who will compete in pools of 8 teams during the preliminary round. Eight teams will then advance to the competition’s final knockout round. The Finals will include the seven strongest teams, with the finals host — Italy — entering the knockout round as the top-placed team. It will consist of eight matches in total – four quarterfinals, two semi-finals, and bronze and gold medal matches.
