Ukraine will be up against Puerto Rico in a FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 Pool A contest on Wednesday night. This will be the final group game for both teams in this year’s competition. The European nation has already won one game and will be the clear favourites against an opposition who are yet to register a victory in the ongoing tournament. Serbia and Tunisia are the other two sides in Pool A. The tournament which is hosted in Poland and Slovenia this year will take place from 26th August to 11th September.
Not only do the top two sides qualify for the knockout rounds but the best four third-placed teams will also book elimination round spots. Hence, both sides will still fancy a spot in the knockout phase of the tournament. Ukraine started with a 3-0 loss to Serbia but they bounced back in style to beat Tunisia by the same scoreline. On the other hand, Puerto Rico were beaten by both Tunisia and Serbia by the same 3-0 scoreline. As things stand in Pool A, Serbia have six points, while Ukraine and Tunisia have three points each. However, Puerto Rico are yet to open their account.

The 24-team competition will take place from August 26th to September 11th. All of the teams are divided into six groups with each pool consisting of four teams. The group phase will last for six days, with each team playing once against their pool opponents. Following the completion of the schedule, 16 teams will be ascertained. It will have all six pool winners, runners-up, and the best four third-placed teams. They will proceed to the first round of elimination.
