Italy are one step away from reaching the final of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League and standing in their way is hosts Turkey. The Italians have been one of the in-form teams in the competition. They have been excellent throughout the tournament, producing consistently top-level performances and results. They will be the clear favourites against a Turkish side, who has largely been inconsistent in the competition till now. Italy won their quarterfinal clash against China, while Turkey beat Thailand in the last round.

On the other hand, Turkey finished seventh in the table, with 23 points from 12 games. They won seven and lost five till now. Even though Italy will be the heavy favourites in this clash, Turkey cannot be taken lightly in the competition.

In the preliminary round, 16 women’s teams will compete in pools of 8 teams under the revised format. During the pool stage, each team plays 12 matches. Eight teams will then advance to the competition’s final knockout round. The Finals will include the seven strongest teams, with the finals host – Turkey – entering the knockout round as the top-placed team. It will consist of eight matches in total – four quarterfinals, two semi-finals, and bronze and gold medal matches.
