Thailand will hope to continue its good form in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when they take on Canada in Phase 2. The Tuesday match will be tricky to call since there is not much to separate the two teams. Both sides have had their ups and downs in the tournament but they can also take a lot of positives from their overall performances. Thailand – in particular – have been pretty good till now, which they will hope to continue in the upcoming fixture.
On the opening day, Thailand had an intriguing test awaiting them in the form of Turkey. There was not much to separate the two sides and it was clearly visible with the way the game unfolded. The Asian country prevailed 3-2 in the end. Since then they have been consistently coming up with noteworthy performances and results. Thailand are second in Pool B with 10 points from five games. They have won four and lost only once. Meanwhile, Canada are third in Pool C and have eight points from five matches, having won three and lost twice.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
