Serbia will begin their second week’s fixtures against USA on Wednesday and then will take on Brazil a day later, before playing Canada. Serbia made an impressive start to their VNL campaign by defeating Bulgaria 19-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20. But then faltered in the next match losing 25-21, 22-25, 23-25, 23-25 to France. Although the European’s bounced back to beat Argentina in a five-set thriller, Germany got the better of them in the fourth match, the scoreboard read 27-25, 25-27, 18-25, 28-26, 18-16. Canada had a poor start to the tournament, losing their opening three games to Germany, France and Italy. But they came back strongly to register their first win of the tournament against Bulgaria before carrying that momentum into their next game to beat Australia. As a result, the upcoming match will be a difficult test for both sides in the competition.
