The Prime Volleyball League (PVL), commonly known as the RuPay Prime Volleyball League has started the registration process for Indians. The league is a men’s indoor volleyball competition for professionals in India. The league’s aim is to provide a unique approach for discovering emerging Indian talents and providing them with exposure. For the registration of the athletes, the league is collaborating with Piston Des Sports. Participants need to visit the Piston Des Sports website to sign up for the auction.

The inaugural edition of the league took place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad. The Kolkata Thunderbolts emerged as the winner of the tournament by beating Ahmedabad Defenders 15-13, 15-10, and 15-12. Ahmedabad Defenders, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Kochi Blue Spikers, and Kolkata Thunderbolts. Two-time Olympic medallist David Lee, Tokyo Olympians Fernando Gonzalez and Luis Antonio participated in the last edition. Indian leading athletes like Ashwal Rai, Karthik A, and Vinit Kumar were also a part of this league.

The CEO of the Prime Volleyball League, Joy Bhattacharjya said, “Last season we had 434 players register for the player auction and all 434 players went under the hammer. Those who missed registering last year have seen the league on television and media and have already been reaching out about the procedure and dates for season 2, so we are looking at a record number of players. The league has always been about the players, and we will continue to build on that.

The league is initiated by Baseline Ventures. The MD of the organization stated, “The credit for the success of season 1 should go to the players, coaches, officials, and the teams who trusted and supported us through the entire journey. The first season helped showcase the best Indian talent which enabled us to place 18 players in the Maldives league. We are in touch with some of the top scouts across the world who are eager to look at the top Indian talent we know.”
