Co-hosts Poland will be heading into the round-of-16 clash against Tunisia as favourites in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022. Poland are the two-time defending champions, having won the title in the 2014 and 2018 editions. They were expected to be one of favourites for the title again and so far they have lived up to the expectations by producing sizzling performances in the group stage. The tournament which is hosted in Poland and Slovenia this year will take place from 26th August to 11th September.
Poland were placed in a difficult group alongside the United States of America. However, the co-hosts started the tournament full of confidence and carried that form throughout the group stage, including beating the United States in their final group match. Poland topped Pool C with nine points from three matches. On the other hand, Tunisia were in Pool A. They were able to win just one of three matches and finished third in their group with three points.

The 24-team competition will take place from August 26th to September 11th. All of the teams are divided into six groups with each pool consisting of four teams. The group phase will last for six days, with each team playing once against their pool opponents. Following the completion of the schedule, 16 teams will be ascertained. It will have all six pool winners, runners-up, and the best four third-placed teams. They will proceed to the first round of elimination.
