Co-hosts Poland will come up against Italy in a mouth-watering FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 final. They are the two unbeaten sides still left in the tournament. Poland are chasing a hat-trick of titles, as they are the two-time defending champions, having won the trophy in the 2014 and 2018 editions. They are also the co-hosts of the tournament along with Slovenia. Nonetheless, Italy can take a lot of comfort from their own impressive form. They are not only unbeaten but have also produced some mind-boggling results en route to the final.

They got the better of Tunisia in the round of 16 and the United States for the second time in the last-eight clash. In the semifinals, they edged past Brazil 3-2 to reach the final. Meanwhile, Italy topped Pool E with nine points and carried that form into the knockout stage, beating Cuba in the last 16 before edging out France 3-2 in a thriller. In the last-four battle, they comfortably got past another co-host Slovenia 3-0.

The 24-team competition will take place from August 26th to September 11th. All of the teams are divided into six groups with each pool consisting of four teams. The group phase will last for six days, with each team playing once against their pool opponents. Following the completion of the schedule, 16 teams will be ascertained. It will have all six pool winners, runners-up, and the best four third-placed teams. They will proceed to the first round of elimination.
