Poland will be keen to extend their winning momentum in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when they face a struggling Germany. The tournament co-hosts have had their ups and downs in the competition till now, however, they are on a two-game winning run which they would like to continue against Germany. The FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year. The tournament started on 23rd September and will end on 15th October.
In Phase 1, Poland could only manage a fourth-place finish after securing ten points from five matches. They won three and lost two games in Phase 1. Poland began Phase 2 with a defeat to Serbia 3-0 but bounced back in style by beating the USA 3-0 before edging past Canada 3-2 to occupy the fourth spot in Pool F. On the other hand, Germany are at the bottom of the same group. They started Phase 2 with a defeat to Turkey but overcame Thailand in their next match before losing to the Dominican Republic in their last game.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
