Table toppers China have nine points from three games in Pool D, while the Czech Republic are languishing at the fifth spot with zero points.
China will take on Czech Republic with the intention of maintaining their winning start to the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022. The Friday evening clash will see two sides sitting at the opposite ends of the group going against each other. They both have produced a contrasting set of results in the tournament till now. While China have been utterly dominant, their upcoming opponents are yet to open their account in the competition. Hence, the Europeans will be eager to get their first points on Friday but that will be an extremely difficult challenge for them.
At the start of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022, China were expected to fight for the top spot in their group. So far they have managed to fulfil those expectations by producing some impressive results along the way. They defeated two South American nations in Argentina and Colombia before getting the better of fellow Asian powerhouse Japan. On the other hand, the Czech Republic started with a defeat against Brazil before losing to Japan and Argentina in their next two fixtures. Overall, table toppers China have nine points from three games in Pool D, while the Czech Republic are languishing at the fifth spot with zero points.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
