Japan hope to end their mini-losing streak when they face Belgium in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League clash. The Japanese women were the most in-form team in the competition for a long while before losing their way in the last few matches. They will be taking on a Belgium side struggling massively for form. The upcoming clash between the Asian and the European side will be a clash between two sides on a 3-game losing streak going head-to-head with each other.
Following their defeats in the last three games, Japan has fallen from the top to the fourth position. They have 24 points from 11 games. After winning the opening eight games on the bounce, the three successive defeats have cost them some crucial points. On the other hand, Belgium have also lost their last three matches. They are sitting second from the bottom, with six points from 11 games, having managed three victories and eight losses.

In the preliminary round, 16 women’s teams will compete in pools of 8 teams under the revised format. During the pool stage, each team plays 12 matches. Eight teams will then advance to the competition’s final knockout round. The Finals will include the seven strongest teams, with the finals host – Turkey – entering the knockout round as the top-placed team. It will consist of eight matches in total – four quarterfinals, two semi-finals, and bronze and gold medal matches.
