Mateusz Gamrot and Arman Tsarukyan’s fight, which served as the main event of UFC on ESPN 38, featured an unbelievable five rounds of action. Both of the lightweight combatants wanted to make a statement on the big stage as they entered the first main event of their UFC debuts. After 25 minutes of fast-paced combat, the judges reached a unanimous conclusion and decided that Gamrot (21-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) had defeated Tsarukyan (18-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC).
Early on in the bout, both competitors tried to define their strategies. Gamrot grabbed one leg and lifted it high in an attempt to get a takedown, but Tsarukyan managed to remain standing. Tsarukyan finished a stunning takedown a little while later, which was followed by a few frantic struggles for the position. In the second round, the action continued to move quickly. After a few brief initial exchanges, Tsarukyan delivered a powerful kick to Gamrot’s torso that reverberated throughout the UFC Apex.

Gamrot expertly flipped Tsarukyan’s attempt to restart the battle on the ground. Tsarukyan, who appeared to dominate Gamrot in the opening two rounds, delivered yet another strong kick to the body. Gamrot returned to his feet after dominating Tsarukyan on the mat and began to unleash attacks. Gamrot tried to finish the bout with one more takedown. In the dying moments of this extremely intriguing main event, Tsarukyan was able to change positions and hit a couple of blows. Gamrot won the bout by a unanimous decision after receiving 48-47 scores from all three of the authorized judges. Now Gamrot wants Justin Gaethje to be his next opponent.
