After two consecutive losses in UFC, Conor McGregor is been looked down on and a former fighter thinks he is “done” and no longer committed to his MMA career. Since winning his second world title in 2016, the former multi-weight world champion has struggled to stay active and consistent, fighting only four times in the cage.

He gained a fortune when he challenged Floyd Mayweather in a crossover boxing match, and he topped the list of highest-paid athletes last year after selling the controlling share in his whiskey firm. As per former professional fighter Josh Thomson, McGregor’s financial success has cost him dearly in the ring years after his biggest sports achievements.

Conor McGregor has lost his edge in fighting

Thomson said on the newest edition of his podcast Weighing In that the Irishman would never be a champion again because he has lost his edge.

Thomson said, “ Conor McGregor can say whatever he wants. He is not one hundred percent dedicated to fighting. And even if he became one hundred percent dedicated to fighting, we still would not see the Conor McGregor of old. It just wouldn’t happen.

“He stepped away for too long, his mind is going in a hundred different directions, and he has a huge family now. Going on his fourth kid coming. It’s just not there anymore. And he continued to sit here and say that it is. He is not going to be the same fighter that fought Jose Aldo, he’s not gonna be the same fighter that fought Eddie Alvarez.”

This is Thomson’s views on McGregor but who knows what the “NOTORIOUS” has to offer. For he came as an underdog, proven himself through all the odds, anything is possible. He may be one of the cockiest fighters in the world but he is talented nevertheless. It is still unknown whether after these many injuries McGregor can come or fight or not. But McGregor wants to come to the Octagon and everyone is waiting for his return.
