UFC News: Jon Jones claims he wants to fight Stipe Miocic on December 10

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been out of action for a while now. Jones hasn’t fought since his victory over Dominick Reyes in February 2020. Since then, it is known that he’ll be moving up to the heavyweight division.

For the past year, fans have been eager to see him return to the octagon but his return was seemingly pushed to 2023. However, Jones has recently come out with the revelations that he has been preparing to fight Stipe Miocic on December 10. UFC will be hosting a pay-per-view event in Las Vegas on December 10 with a light heavyweight title rematch between Jiří Procházka and Glover Teixeira already in the card.

Jon Jones replied to fan who asked about his return to the octagon over Twitter and said: “I’m preparing to fight Stipe December 10 in Las Vegas. Not really sure what’s going on between Stipe and the UFC but I’m ready to compete! I’m going to control what I can and stay in shape.”

It’s safe to say that Jon Jones is eager to get back into the octagon himself. While the date for his return is not set yet, Jones is staying in shape for whenever the opportunity does arise.

Can Jon Jones become the heavyweight champion?

Having ruled the light heavyweight division for so long, Jon Jones is eager to show what he can do in the heavyweight division as well. While he is pretty confident in his abilities and certainly believes he can become the heavyweight champion, it is worth noting that he will have to go past some killers to get there.

From what it seems at the moment, Jon Jones will take on Stipe Miocic for his debut matchup in the division. If he manages to get past the former UFC heavyweight champion, he will be in a position to fight Francis Ngannou for the belt. That said, it will be interesting to see if he can get his hands on the heavyweight championship or not.
