Following a remarkable career, former UFC champion Daniel Cormier will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer.
Daniel Cormier, a former UFC champion, will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. The news was revealed at UFC 274 this past weekend. Former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is widely recognised as one of the finest fighters to ever compete in the Octagon. The hall of fame ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on June 30 and will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
Dana White only had high praises for Daniel Cormier and he sees DC as one of the best atheletes the world has to offer.
UFC President Dana White said, “Daniel Cormier is one of the most badass competitors of all time. DC faced the greatest athletes in the world on every level of wrestling and MMA. He is also the ultimate professional. As an active fighter, he always took time for the media, which led him to become one of the best TV analysts in all of sports. DC is one of the greatest ambassadors UFC has ever had, and it’s going to be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer.”

Cormier will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the Modern Wing, with Forrest Griffin (2013), BJ Penn (2015), Urijah Faber (2017), Ronda Rousey (2018), Michael Bisping (2019), Rashad Evans (2019), Georges St-Pierre (2020), and Khabib Nurmagomedov (2022). Athletes who started pro on or after November 17, 2000 (the first UFC event under the unified rules of MMA), are at least 35 years old, or have been retired for one year or more fall into the “Modern Era” category.
Cormier has a 22-win, 3-loss, and 1-no contest professional MMA record. In 2020, he retired from MMA and now works as a UFC analyst. In 2013, Daniel Cormier made his UFC debut against Frank Mir at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Melendez. Cormier won a unanimous decision against Mir. Only two individuals have defeated him in his career: Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones. And they are the greatest fighter to ever set foot in UFC.
