The UFC pound-for-pound rankings is a list of the top fighters in the UFC, disregarding their weight class. These rankings are grounded on a fighter’s skills, achievements, and overall impact on the sport. These rankings are constantly changing to represent the actual state of the sport. The pound-for-pound ranking list is largely subjective and batted over in the MMA community.

Dustin Poirier

Poirier’s most impressive performance would be his matches against Connor Mcgregor himself, where he’d win both of the matches.

Max Holloway is one of the greatest featherweight fighters to ever grace the octagon. He is also known for his sportsmanship and positive attitude outside of the cage. He has been involved in charity and has been raising funds for Hawaii’s homeless population. Currently, Holloway is ranked #2 in the featherweight division and will soon go for a title shot.

Alex Pereira

Pereira started his combat sports career in kickboxing, where he quickly rose through the ranks and established himself as one of the top fighters in the world. He won multiple championships in various organizations, including the GLORY light heavyweight championship and GLORY middleweight championship. In the UFC he had managed to win the UFC middleweight championship, but recently lost his title defense to Israel Adesanya.

Charles Oliveira

Charles Oliveira, also known as “do Bronx,” is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight division. Oliveira is a submission specialist and holds the record for the most submission victories in UFC history with 21 submission wins. Watching Oliveira on the mat is an experience on its own. Charles Oliveria is the best expression of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, he looks more comfortable while grappling than when he’s standing still.

Oliveria is the former UFC lightweight champion as well as ranked #1 in the current lightweight rankings just below the current champion, Islam Makachev.

Kamaru Usman

Kamaru Usman is a Nigerian-American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as a welterweight fighter. Usman made his MMA debut in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks to make a name for himself. The UFC took notice and signed him in 2015, and since then he has become one of the most successful fighters in UFC’s history. He has become a fan favorite with his striking prowess and ruthless demeanor. Currently, he’s ranked #1 in the Welterweight division just behind the champion Leon Edwards.

Aljamain Sterling

Aljamain Sterling is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on July 31, 1989, in Uniondale, New York. Aljamain began his wrestling career in high school, where he was a two-time New York state finalist. Sterling currently holds the UFC bantamweight champion title with three title defenses along with the longest win streak in the Bantamweight division. Sterling is a beloved fighter who is currently making waves in the community with his most recent title defense against Henry Cejudo.

Israel Adesanya

Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya is another household name in the MMA community, Israel saw a meteoric rise in his popularity fairly recently. Adesanya made his debut in 2018 and quickly made a name for himself with his impeccable striking paired with an unorthodox fighting style. He has defeated numerous prominent UFC fighters like Paulo Costa, Yoel Romero, and the GOAT Anderson Silva.

Israel is a fan favorite among all the MMA community while also boasting an impressive history with professional boxing, kickboxing as well as MMA under different regional promotions.

Jon Jones

Jon Jones is a polarizing figure in the MMA community but following is phenomenal and almost no one doubts his MMA prowess. Many even claim him to be the GOAT of UFC. Jon Jones had won numerous championships in the UFC and has had numerous title defenses. He has further defeated champs like Daniel Cormier as well as Chael Sonnen.

Leon Edwards

Leon Edwards is another household name in the welterweight division. He is a British welterweight mixed martial artist who currently fights in the UFC. Edwards joined professional combat sports in 2011. He currently holds the fifth-fastest knockout in UFC history against Seth Baczynski.

Leon Edwards is the current welterweight champion. And has had one successful title defense against the former welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.

Islam Makachev

Islam Makachev is a Russian mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on September 27, 1991, in Dagestan, Russia. Makachev had been training in wrestling ever since he could remember. His training made him a world-class wrestler while also earning him a spot in the Russian national team.

Islam made his UFC debut in 2010, and since then he has amassed an impressive record of 24-1. His only loss was his second UFC against Adriano Martins. Islam is the current lightweight champion and has had one successful title defense against Alexander Volkanovski.
