Shayilan Nuerdanbieke is one of the Chinese UFC fighters that fans should follow. The 28-year-old boxer from Ili Kazakh Autonomous Province in northern Xinjiang has an incredible 48 professional fights. He competes in the featherweight division and has a UFC record of 2-1 and a total MMA record of 38-10. Shayilan ‘Wolverine’ Nuerdanbieke trained intensively in Greco-Roman wrestling for six years before trying his hand at MMA. He was inspired to pursue mixed martial arts after watching “The Notorious” Conor McGregor fight on television. Since his debut, Nuerdanbieke has had 48 professional matches. He competed around the region in China, amassing a 36-9 MMA record before joining the UFC.

He made his promotional debut against Joshua Culibao at UFC Vegas 27 and lost by a unanimous decision. Since then, he’s built a two-game winning streak, most recently overtaking T.J. Brown at UFC Vegas 57. He has 18 knockouts and 10 sideline wins in his career. Nuerdanbieke said Conor McGregor was the inspiration for him to pursue MMA, after watching the Irish MMA star on TV. ‘Wolverine’ made his mixed martial arts debut in 2016, the same year ‘The Notorious’ won his second UFC belt. The Irishman has a UFC record of 10-4 and an overall MMA record of 22-6. Since 2016, Shayilan Nuerdanbieke has fought 48 times, setting a 38-10 record. McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather in a boxing bout and has only fought in the UFC four times since 2016, losing three of four fights.

Meanwhile, in the six years since his professional debut, Nuerdanbieke has fought more times than McGregor in his entire career. Conor McGregor’s time away from the octagon, however, is not without reason. The Irish have started many businesses including their own whiskey brand, a clothing brand, and pub ownership. It’s still unclear when ‘The Notorious’ will return to the octagon, while Nuerdanbieke will face Darrick Minner on November 5.
