Pedro Munhoz is confident that Marlon Vera will provide him with the kind of fight he enjoys. Set to replace Henry Cejudo, Munhoz is ready to take on Vera at UFC 292 on August 19 at TD Garden in Boston.

Coming off a victory against Chris Gutierrez in April, where he ended an eight-fight unbeaten streak, Pedro Munhoz holds Marlon Vera in high regard and looks forward to an action-packed showdown with “The Punisher” at UFC 292.

“He’s good,” Munhoz told MMA Junkie. “I also know my strengths, my capability, and that’s going to be a hell of a fight.”

Pedro Munhoz has a great MMA record

Munhoz’s success in Fight of the Night victories against fighters like Jimmie Rivera and former champion Cody Garbrandt has been noteworthy. Although he had to adapt his approach against Gutierrez, he expects a thrilling showdown with “Chito,” where both fighters will meet in the middle, ready for a battle.

“I like to get wild,” Munhoz said. “If you get the chance to get wild, why not? Let it just be out there. A lot of the times that the fight went wild, it was the type of fight that I get big. So lately, a lot of the fighters that I fought were trying to avoid that, trying to fight on the back foot.”

Munhoz feels the need to adjust his strategy

In reflection of his previous bout with Gutierrez, Munhoz acknowledged the need to adjust his strategy for an opponent who didn’t press forward as aggressively as “Chito” Vera. However, he expressed his fondness for a good dogfight and appreciates the intensity that comes with it.

“The last fight against Gutierrez, I had to adapt a little bit of my strategy to fight a guy that I knew was not coming forward as much as ‘Chito’ will come. But I appreciate a little bit of a dog fight to be honest with you.”
