Israel Adesanya has given a rather interesting take on how his fight against Alex Pereira would go. ‘Izzy’ is set to take on the Brazilian at UFC 281 on November 12 in a highly anticipated clash at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding this fight as the two have fought twice in the past as well during their kickboxing days. While Alex Pereira won the fight on both occasions, Israel Adesanya is confident that it won’t be the case this time around.

During a recent interview with The AllStar, Adesanya spoke about how the fight would go. While suggesting that he Alex Pereira won’t be able to sustain his high pace, ‘Izzy’ said: “I can go f***ing 45 minutes. If this fight has to go, each round, until someone falls, trust me, I know who’s gonna be left standing. I honestly think within the first five minutes, within the first round, give him three minutes with the pace, I think it’s gonna be a high pace. In the first round, you’re gonna see him start to fold. He won’t be able to keep the high pace.”

It’s safe to say that Israel Adesanya isn’t too worried about Alex Pereira’s high-pace style of fighting. That said, it will be interesting to see if Adesanya’s predictions stand true or not.

Can Israel Adesanya withstand Alex Pereira’s power?

Apart from Alex Pereira’s high-pace style of fighting, his power is something that makes him a lot more dangerous. The Brazilian has a powerful left hand which he used to knockout Adesanya in their kickboxing rematch years ago.

While ‘Izzy’ has most certainly evolved as a fighter, Pereira’s power is still a cause of concern. The UFC middleweight champion will have to figure out a way to neutralize his power if he wants to retain his title. It remains to be seen whether or not Israel Adesanya is able to withstand his opponent’s power come November 12th or not.
