After a sensational first-round KO win at UFC 283 over the weekend, Johnny Walker warned that arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, and now heavyweight Jon Jones is coming for him. Walker had a sensational performance last Saturday night at his UFC Octagon in Brazil, where he KOed Paul Craig in just minutes in a light heavyweight bout. The UFC visited Brazil for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. UFC 283 took place in Rio de Janeiro last weekend, with Brazilian fighters in nearly every match. The main event was a light heavyweight title match between Brazilian Glover Teixeira and Jamahar Hill. On the undercard, Johnnie Walker took on Paul Craig, also in the £205 contest. Before the fight was his 50/50 fight between his two UFC title contenders. In the end, the fight was completely one-sided in favor of the Brazilian MMA star.

Johnny Walker won the fight by a sensational knockout in the first round, showing at a media press conference that he’s still one of the most dangerous light heavyweight contenders in the UFC and that he’s beaten anyone but John. I raised the possibility of doing super fights in the future. Jones argued. Jones recently announced his return to the Octagon as he faces Cyril Gaine in his main UFC 285 event for the UFC heavyweight title. The longtime UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has not fought since February 2020 but will make his first heavyweight comeback.

After his stunning KO over the weekend, Johnnie Walker was asked at the post-fight press conference if he would fight “Bones” in the future. When the Brazilian MMA superstar was asked about a potential fight with the greatest MMA fighter of all time stepping into the octagon, he briefly explained it: “I’m coming.”

A possible argument between the two would be sensational. Walker wields devastating power, demonstrating the ability to knock out anyone. Jones’ career speaks for him. If Jones survives his fight with Gaine at UFC 285 in March, a potential fight with Walker for the UFC heavyweight gold medal would be sensational. Of course, Walker still has a long way to go before he can beat Jones, but it’s definitely a UFC high-profile fight.
