The first semi-final in the mixed doubles category of the 2022 US Open will be played between second seeds Zhang Shuai and Mate Pavic and the team of Karen Flipkens and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Zhang and Pavic beat the team of Franco Skugor and Ena Shibahara in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. The score at the end of the tie was 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-3. Shuai and Pavic will face the team of Roger-Vasselin and Flipkens, who beat Matthew Ebden and Samantha Stosur in the quarter-finals. The score at the end of the match was 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 11-9 with the victors recording four aces and two out of seven break points.
Zhang/Pavic and Flipkens/Roger-Vasselin are scheduled to face each other on Thursday, August 8 in the semi-final of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
