The top seeded women’s doubles pair of Zhang Shuai and Elise Mertens will go up against the seventh seeded pair of Andreja Klepac and Alexa Guarachi in the quarter-final of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Zhang and Mertens recorded a comfortable victory in the round of 16 to advance to this stage of the competition against Raluca Olaru and Nadiia Kichenok. The score at the end of the match was 6-4, 6-3, with the winners hitting one ace and converting two out of five break points. On the other hand, Klepac and Guarachi had a bit of a test against the Chinese pair of Yang Zhaoxuan and Xu Yifan but managed to bag a 6-3, 7-5 victory. On paper, it should be a simple victory for the top seeds but nothing can be said with absolute certainty.

The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 6 as the singles competition reaches its business end.
